This is not a jailbreak unlock at all. It's a full unlock and once processed, you hook your iPhone up to iTunes with a none orange sim inside and iTunes will say "Congratulations, your iPhone has been unlocked". The version is irrelevant, 5.1.1 will be fine, and you will be able to update in the future too without fear of the phone re-locking, also your warranty is unaffected.
